“My name’s Clinton Swan. I’m the Director of a company called Swan Commercial Walls & Ceilings on the Gold Coast. We specialise in commercial fit outs which includes  ­anything from units, to multi-­res, to anything in commercial plasterboard. I’ve been in the industry for 16 years - as a subcontractor and also as a Director. We’ve been well supported by Knauf since our initial entry into the marketplace. Anything we require, technical assistance through to sales, they’re always there.

Knauf have a fantastic range of products. The older methods, from the transition of a drywall grid to an exposed grid ceiling, was acomplicated situation. Now with the USG components, it’s so much simpler and faster. It’s what we want, we want to be more competitive. 

After starting to use the Knauf Drywall Grid, we found it a lot faster with the labour. The builder wants pace and activity onsite. And with this product, that’s what we can give them. We use it for units, we use it for large areas, we use it for office fitouts. We find if we build walls up underneath it, with the transition for the walls to come up underneath, it works perfectly. It’s fast, it’s easy to use and very well packaged. Logistically, it’s brilliant!

We’re not having to order more material or different components from different companies. We can just use the Drywall grid, simple components meet and match to form bulkheads, to form corners that are strong and are going to just stay there.This is an amazing product, Knauf have brought this to the marketplace and it’s going to make a big impact.
