Knauf Solution

Education

Introduction

Education premises, such as schools and universities, require a certain health and safety standard to ensure a conducive learning environment for all students. School halls and classrooms require some measure of quietness. Research has shown that an education building's infrastructure and design, its condition, lighting, internal air quality, temperature, and acoustics have a direct correlation on learning outcomes, especially students' achievements and their behaviour. At Knauf, we offer a wide range of solutions that satisfy specific requirements of education buildings such as fire protection, sound isolation and absorption, and impact resistance.

Fire Protection

Our lightweight fire rated walls and ceiling systems meet the required fire regulations. We offer a range of products within our fire rated building solutions, including fire rated walls and ceilings, fire tunnels, and fire-protected columns and beams. For specific fire rated walls and ceiling systems, please contact a Knauf representative.

Acoustics

For maintaining quietness in classrooms and corridors, we offer a range of sound-absorbing materials, including Pin Perf™ ClimaPlus™ (High-NRC), Radar™ ClimaPlus™, and Impressions™ ClimaPlus™ with NRC ratings up to 0.60.

Impact Resistance

Impact damage to internal wall surfaces is a major contributor to the high maintenance costs of education buildings. Whether they are located in corridors, classrooms or sports halls, walls are often subject to damage far more than just normal wear and tear.

Knauf provides a range of lining products offering various levels of impact resistance. Knauf Impactwall, which performs severe duty resistance, has been specifically designed for use in high-traffic areas. Whereas, Fiberock® Aqua-Tough™ is a paperless gypsum board with cellulose fibre reinforcement that is useful against hard body and glancing impact.
